Designing a passionate life and life balance requires a clear vision of what this means to you. There are lots of different exercises that can help you and I've done many of them and they work. I want to introduce you to a different point of view that has given me a different perspective on how to gain clarity about what I want my life to look like. This technique is to have a conversation or dialog with your life.
To do this, create an image of yourself that represents your life. Then imagine yourself sitting down with your life over tea or coffee and ask it questions and see how it answers. Rather than focusing on all that you give to your life, focus on what your life wants to give back to you. Ask any questions you want.
Suggestions for questions that you may want to ask your life include:
What do you want to give back to me?
What do you want me to experience?
How do you want me to feel?
What do you want to provide as a legacy?
Select the questions that feel good to you and find a quiet space. Close your eyes, ask each question, empty your mind and listen to the response for each answer. You may want to have a piece of paper and pencil available to write down the answers. As you listen to the answers, notice how you feel, where you feel it in your body, and what do you notice about your perspective of your life.
After you are done asking questions, read through your notes and notice anything new that may have come up. What new information do you see? Did you gain more clarity about what your life could look like? What is the next action item that you will take? Sign up for my free PDD report and start living passionately now.
