Designing a passionate life includes tapping into your passion, staying focused on it, and taking action that moves you towards it. I know a young woman who is very clear on what she is passionate about. She is passionate about cycling and wants to be a professional cycler. Her name is Jennifer Wheeler, she has a full-time job, has a vigorous training schedule, and races almost every weekend. Jennifer is a clear example of passion in action. I've never witnessed a person with so much passion, intensity and willingness to do what it takes to live her passion. She's a great example for all of us.
She only started riding a year ago and she is beating all of the women in the Seattle area. She rides with the men to get a better work out and she beats a good portion of them. Many of them come up to her and marvel at her strength and endurance. She has what it takes to win.
Working full-time and training takes the bulk of her time and all of her money and then some. During a conversation with Jennifer I mentioned to her that she should create a blog and let her friends and family know what she was up to. She took that idea and the next day, she had a blog set up with her mission statement, rules, and expenses listed. She's also asking people to donate to support her in living her passion. She's a great example of a "can do" attitude. She absolutely believes in herself and from what I've seen, when she sets her mind to something, she usually accomplishes it.
I'd like you to get to know Jennifer and perhaps some of her passion will rub off on you and move you to take action to live your passions. Check out her blog, watch her journey to National cycling, and if you so desire give her a dollar. Please feel free to let others know about Jennifer's dream and see if they would like to support her as well.
