Designing a passionate life includes being clear on what you are passionate about. I recently did a workshop where I gave "The Passion Test" to a group of people. It was so inspiring to work with them and help them to identify their top five passions. The questions were great and the participants really embraced the process. There were a few tears from people who identified their top five passions and discovered that what they thought would be in the top five passions weren't. Some experienced sadness, joy, or disappointment, but they all experienced an ah-ha moment.
The Passion Test is all about gaining clarity about what is important to you in your life. The Passion Test is not an actual test but a process. You can't "fail". It is unique to you and helps you become clear. When you are clear about what is important you can then focus your energy on those things. Without clarity, focus is hard to implement. You may be someone who is absolutely clear about your passions and your number one passion is in your life continually. That's great, and I would suggest that since you have that passion in your life, move onto one of the other passions that does not have much of your attention now so you can bring more of that passion into your life.
People often wonder if when they are clear about their passion if it will come easily. My answer is maybe or maybe not. I've seen people identify their top passion, create a plan, implement it and everything went easily, smoothly, and quickly. It does happen. Others, experienced more obstacles and they could overcome them because they tapped into that energy of the passion and let it carry them through the obstacles with ease. Keep you focus on your passion and what it feels like. This will carry you through all of the ups and downs of living your passions.
